Callaway Fusion FT-3

Introducing Fusion Technology, a weight-shifting science developed by Callaway Golf that utilizes multiple materials in clubhead construction. As a result, the FT-3 Drivers have 44 grams of discretionary weight which can be precisely positioned within the clubhead, to maximize stability and generate corrective-spin characteristics. The Callaway OptiFit System creates three configurations for each loft – Fade, Draw and Neutral – allowing golfers to select a configuration that best fits a particular swing type and shot shape.

Title: FT 3 9* Neutral...
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4 out of 5 stars4 out of 5 stars4 out of 5 stars4 out of 5 stars
Handicap: 6-10
Pros: Feels light to me
Cons: Terrible sound
Body: This is the first driver I've bought in years. I'm upgrading everything. Pro: I chose it because it was the lightest and easiest to hit. It has the stock Aldila NVS 55 gram stiff shaft. I have a slow swing and this club suits me perfectly. At the end of the round the driver is always the best club in the bag. I hit it in the range of 240-260. I'm 57 years old and don't have the swing speed of the guys hitting the 300 yard drives. I don't think any club is going to help me generate that speed. Con: The sound is tinny. Someone said it sounds like a Fungo (aluminum) bat from kids softball. Maybe there is something wrong with the sound but it works for me. It does sound like it's defective but I'm still going to buy another one just like it so I have a spare.

Title: Not Bad...
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3 out of 5 stars3 out of 5 stars3 out of 5 stars3 out of 5 stars
Handicap: 11-15
Pros: Lots of feel
Cons: Lots of feel
Body: Well, after using the FT-i for about a month, I decided to see if I could go back to hitting a more "conventional" driver. The sound itself brought back some great memories, and the feel of this particular driver is unlike any I've ever hit. I had my old callaway to use as comparison, and the Fusion was MUCH better. However, being a higher handicap like myself comes with a high handicap swing. So as before, I began spraying this driver like a sprinkler in no time. I could feel every little mis-hit, and simply didn't like the sensitivity. I'm going to stick with the FT-i until I drop a few more strokes.

Title: Ft-3...
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2 out of 5 stars2 out of 5 stars2 out of 5 stars2 out of 5 stars
Handicap: 1-5
Pros: Lots of options for fitting
Cons: Poor feel
Body: 9 degrees, with fade bias, with Adilia NV Regular shaft, 55 Grams. Nice looking club, sets up well, however, results have been average. I fight a hook so the fade setup is nice, and it's not easy to turn the ball over. The problem I have had with this club is inconsistent distance and feel. Some like the sound of this club but it just never appealed to me. I have played with other guys who hit the hell out of this thing, but the results for myself have been below average. Back to the Cleveland 460 for now.
